✦New featurePlanelico initiative
Planelico is now available in the US: NEC 2023 and load center
US projects follow the 2023 NEC: required circuits, a load center with GFCI and AFCI breakers, imperial units, and estimates in dollars with sales tax. The site also adapts to your country without asking.
✓One site per market: planelico.com in France, /uk in the United Kingdom, /us in the United States. You land on yours automatically, and the country selector at the top of the page lets you switch.
✓NEC 2023 circuits: 20 A / 12 AWG general-purpose circuits (or 15 A / 14 AWG), lighting and receptacles on the same circuits, two small-appliance circuits for the kitchen and dining room, and 20 A circuits of their own for the laundry, bathrooms and garage.
✓Load center: each breaker carries its own protection (GFCI, AFCI or dual function) based on the rooms and appliances; 240 V circuits for the range, dryer, water heater and EV charger (sized at 125 %) take two spaces.
✓Presence checks: a receptacle in every room that needs one, switched lighting, front and back outdoor receptacles for a house.
✓Imperial units: areas in sq ft, dimensions and heights in feet and inches, wire sizes in AWG, NM-B cables and lengths in feet.
✓Estimates and invoices (Pro) in US dollars, with a free sales tax rate (labor can be non-taxable), license number and US wording.
Every project now follows its own wiring standard: BS 7671 in the UK, NF C 15-100 in France. Circuits, consumer unit, symbols, exports, quotes and invoices all match the country of the job.
✓Your country is detected automatically and applies to your new projects; you can change it at any time in “My account”. It is independent of the language: a French project can be prepared in English. Existing projects stay on NF C 15-100.
✓UK socket circuits: 32 A ring final in 2.5 mm² (up to 100 m² served), or 32 A radial in 4 mm² (75 m²) and 20 A radial in 2.5 mm² (50 m²). Capacity is counted by floor area served, not by the number of sockets.
✓Kitchen on its own ring, lighting on 6 A (up to 13 points), 30 mA type A RCDs, washing machine and dishwasher on the ring, cooker and electric shower on their own 45 A circuit.
✓New UK-only items: 45 A cooker control unit, electric shower, immersion heater, shaver socket and fused spur (FCU).
✓UK conventions across the project: circuit references (SKT, KIT, LTG, DED, RCD), twin & earth cables, consumer unit report and labels, in the language of your choice.
✓Quotes and invoices (Pro) in pounds sterling, with UK VAT (20, 5 or 0%), your company number and UK wording. A quote follows the project country, and you can pick another one.
Labels shown on the plan, plan opacity and a new double socket symbol
Name your devices and show those names right on the plan, lighten the background plan so your symbols stand out, and enjoy a clearer double socket symbol.
✓New “Show labels” button in the toolbar: the label you enter for a device (for example “Hall detector”) appears under its symbol, just like in the PDF export. Hidden by default.
✓New “Plan opacity” setting (10 to 100%), saved per floor and applied to the PDF export too: the background plan fades while your symbols, wires and zones stay crisp.
✓On small screens, both settings are available in the toolbar “…” menu.
✓The double socket symbol has been redrawn to match the triple socket: two outlets in one box, identical on the plan and in the PDF.
✦New featurePlanelico initiative
Printable consumer unit labels (PRO)
Generate your enclosure labels in one click, at the exact size of your label holders, from the panel computed by Planelico.
✓New “Export labels” button in the electrical panel window, available with the PRO plan.
✓Choose the label holder height (10 to 50 mm) and the module width (17.5 or 18 mm), with a live preview.
✓Each label shows the circuit reference, its description, the breaker rating and the conductor size.
✓Your plan symbols can illustrate each circuit; the description can also be hidden for cleaner labels.
✓Strips print at actual size, with a scale ruler and crop marks, and are split without ever cutting through a device.
✓A circuit directory to stick inside the enclosure door is added at the end of the document.
Premium and Pro members can now create circuits from the plan, freely assign devices, and instantly visualize each network.
✓Create a circuit without generating an automatic proposal first, then customize its reference and name.
✓Add or remove several devices and preserve edited circuits when generating a new automatic proposal.
✓The global selector highlights circuit devices and wires, dims the rest of the plan, and displays a stable color and circuit reference.
✓Generate native circuit wires and regenerate them whenever a change makes their route outdated.
✓Capacity overruns, incompatible equipment, and incomplete circuits are reported immediately.
✓Deletion explains its consequences before confirmation, while PDF exports reuse the references and colors shown in the editor.
✓This feature is available to Premium and Pro plans only.

Multiple selection for devices and wires
Objects close to a wire are now easier to select, and multiple devices or wires can be edited together.
✓A device now takes priority when it sits beneath a wire, while the wire remains easy to select elsewhere on the plan.
✓Hold Cmd, Ctrl or Shift while clicking to add devices or wires to or remove them from the selection.
✓Selected devices can be moved or deleted together.
✓Layer, label, size, rotation, color, note, mounting height and compatible setting changes apply to the entire selection.
✓Selected wires can be deleted together and share the same layer, color or label settings.
✓A bulk action can be reverted in one step with the usual undo command.

Custom colors for wire connections
Each wire can now use its own color or automatically inherit the color set for its layer.
✓A quick palette and a free color picker are available in every wire’s properties.
✓The selected color can be set as the layer default, including for new wires created in that layer.
✓A customized wire can return to its layer color at any time.
✓Colors are preserved in the editor, shared links, and PDF exports.

More reliable new-floor imports
Adding a floor now detects unreadable or incompatible PDFs before changing the project.
✓The PDF selected as the floor plan is analyzed and validated before it is added to the project.
✓A clear message explains how to re-save an incompatible file so it can be imported.
✓When a PDF contains several pages, the page used for the new floor can now be selected from its preview.
✓If the import fails, the project’s existing PDF and floors remain unchanged.

Every object can now be moved to another layer
The layer assigned to a device, zone or wire is visible in its properties and can be corrected directly.
✓A new “Layer” selector is available in the properties of devices, zones and wires.
✓Hidden or locked layers are identified before the change so an object does not appear to vanish or unexpectedly become immovable.
✓When a device or zone changes layer, room assignments are recalculated automatically.
✓Every transfer can be reverted with the usual undo command.

Circuit labels can be shown on demand
Each wire now lets you show or hide its circuit label without deleting its content.
✓The setting is available in the wire properties, below the label field.
✓A hidden label remains saved and can be shown again at any time.
✓The choice applies to both the editor and PDF export without changing wire selection.

Zone resizing and angle measurements
Zone edges can now be stretched directly, with optional measurements for every interior angle.
✓A new handle in the middle of each edge moves both endpoints together, making it quick to turn a square into a rectangle.
✓Vertex handles remain available for precise single-point adjustments.
✓The “Show angles on the plan” option adds every interior angle measurement to the editor and PDF export.

More reliable equipment selection and placement
Symbols can now be selected and placed accurately from the catalogue, favourites and recent equipment.
✓The same equipment remains draggable everywhere, even when it appears in its category, favourites and recent equipment at the same time.
✓Sidebar labels are no longer selected accidentally while dragging.
✓The symbol preview is centred under the pointer and placement follows its exact horizontal and vertical position, even after scrolling the sidebar.

Plan dimensions and cable takeoff for Pros
Add your own dimensions and mounting heights, then estimate cable lengths using the routes actually planned for the job.
✓Create free-form dimensions or use one as a reference to set the plan scale, with a custom colour and optional label display.
✓Set a ceiling height for every floor and a mounting height for each device, with dedicated PDF pages for floor dimensions and mounting heights.
✓The Pro cable takeoff considers the source panel, ceiling, floor, wall-chase or service-void routes, direct or wall-following paths, and floor crossings.
✓Detours, site allowance and heights can be adjusted before viewing totals by cable type and the detail for every circuit.
✓The estimate can be saved with the project and included in or excluded from the PDF export using a dedicated option.

Three new guides for planning a home electrical installation
New-build planning, electrical panel PDFs and single-line diagrams now have illustrated guides in both English and French.
✓A visual walkthrough shows how to turn an architect plan into an electrical package ready for contractor quotations.
✓A worked example explains circuit generation, panel organisation and the pages included in the exported PDF.
✓The guides clearly distinguish floor-plan layouts, single-line diagrams and panel diagrams, including their limits and required professional validation.
